Siegfried provided surveying, civil engineering, and geotechnical engineering services for UC Davis Health’s 48X Complex, a 268,228-square-foot medical facility designed to significantly expand the health system’s ability to deliver advanced patient care. The building features 12 modern operating rooms, five procedure rooms, dedicated pre- and post-operative recovery bays, private overnight patient recovery rooms, and specialized spaces for imaging and physical therapy. It also includes clinical support operations such as sterilization areas, a pharmacy, and other essential patient care facilities, along with administrative offices to facilitate patient education and support services.
In addition to our civil and surveying work, Siegfried provided geotechnical engineering for the crane pad during the construction phase, ensuring safe and stable installation for heavy equipment operation. The facility incorporates public spaces to enhance the patient and visitor experience, creating a welcoming environment alongside state-of-the-art healthcare delivery.
Connected to the new Central Utility Plant, the 48X Complex benefits from improved energy efficiency and operational reliability, helping UC Davis Health maintain high standards of service and care. By integrating surgical, recovery, diagnostic, therapy, and administrative functions under one roof, the 48X Complex stands as a vital addition to the region’s healthcare infrastructure, meeting growing demand and supporting comprehensive, patient-centered treatment for years to come.
