Siegfried provided civil engineering, land surveying, and landscape architecture services for the development of the new Bancroft Parking Structure at the University of California, Berkeley. The project replaced existing tennis courts and an aging parking structure with a new parking facility, pedestrian paseo, and associated site improvements designed to enhance accessibility, circulation, and connectivity throughout the campus.
Working closely with the University and multidisciplinary design team, Siegfried developed site improvements that included demolition, grading, drainage, utility connections, paving, planting, and irrigation design. The team incorporated ADA-compliant pedestrian pathways and sustainable site features to support the University’s accessibility and environmental goals. As the project progressed, Siegfried also coordinated the redesign of the stormwater treatment system, integrating a Contech Stormceptor STC device and modifying drainage infrastructure, grading, and landscape elements to accommodate the updated design.
Additional services included construction staking, stormwater pollution prevention planning, and Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) and Practitioner (QSP) services to support construction activities and regulatory compliance. Through collaboration across disciplines, Siegfried helped deliver coordinated site improvements that support a more accessible, functional, and connected campus environment.
