Siegfried is actively engaged in providing comprehensive engineering services to Stanislaus County, with a focus on enhancing the functionality and pedestrian accessibility of County roadways and sidewalks across four distinct areas. This initiative, funded through the Measure L local funds, aims to significantly improve pedestrian infrastructure and safety throughout the region.
The project includes a range of critical elements designed to upgrade and enhance pedestrian access. Siegfried is responsible for the design and construction of new sidewalks, implementing essential drainage improvements, and preparing separate bid packages for each of the four targeted areas. This detailed approach ensures that each project’s specific needs are addressed efficiently and effectively.
In addition to the Measure L funds, Siegfried has played a key role in assisting the County in securing additional funding through the Active Transportation Program (ATP) for three of the projects: Airport, Bret Harte, and Robertson. These projects are currently in the design phase, reflecting our commitment to leveraging diverse funding sources to maximize the impact of the improvements.
The project areas include:
- Airport Neighborhood Sidewalk Project: Located south of Modesto, this project is situated directly west of the Modesto City-County Airport. It focuses on enhancing pedestrian infrastructure in the surrounding residential areas, improving access and connectivity for local residents.
- Bret Harte Elementary School Sidewalk Project: This project is situated southwest of Modesto, specifically west of Crows Landing Road and south of Hatch Road. The improvements will provide safe and accessible pathways for students and families traveling to and from Bret Harte Elementary School.
- Robertson Road Elementary School Sidewalk Project: Located southeast of Modesto, this project is positioned east of S. Carpenter Road and south of Paradise Road. The goal is to improve pedestrian safety and access for the community, particularly for students and families using Robertson Road Elementary School.
- Downtown Denair Sidewalk Project: Situated within the unincorporated Town of Denair, just east of the City of Turlock, this project aims to revitalize and enhance pedestrian infrastructure in the town center, improving accessibility and safety for residents and visitors.
- Turlock Measure L Sidewalk Improvements: Focused on Linwood Avenue and Lander Avenue, and three locations on West Avenue, this project will establish dedicated pedestrian pathways and improve safety routes to school for children. By installing these improvements, the project will enhance overall pedestrian mobility and ensure safer travel routes for students.
Siegfried’s efforts in this comprehensive project highlight our dedication to improving community infrastructure and promoting safer, more accessible environments for all residents. The integration of well-planned sidewalks and drainage systems across these diverse locations underscores our commitment to supporting the county’s long-term goals of pedestrian safety and connectivity.
