Civil engineering and surveying services for the design of 18 bus stop locations along a 5.5 mile stretch of Hammer Lane for the RTD Bus Rapid Transit III route. The purpose is to expand existing BRT services east and west between I-5 and Hwy 99 in north Stockton. Once implemented, this project will improve service to meet current and future mobility needs, improve quality of life, improve air quality, decrease traffic congestion and assist in the development of a strong, integrated, and diverse economy. One unique aspect about this project is the design and implementation of Queue Jump Lanes which will give priority to busses and allow RTD to maintain tight schedules along the rapid transit route. In 2013, this project was awarded the Small Transit Project of the Year distinction from the California Transportation Foundation (CTF) for its impact to the community by increasing total system-wide ridership by more than 40 percent.
