Siegfried provided landscape architecture, civil engineering, and surveying services for the redeveloped waterfront community park that sits along the Sacramento River in the City of Rio Vista, CA. The new park was part of a pilot project for the City and the ultimate goal is to install a full-length waterfront promenade walkway along the banks of the Sacramento River. The multiple conceptual park designs included benches, picnic tables, flagpoles, public restrooms, a fish cleaning station, and access to the City’s fishing pier. Design elements included preservation of existing established trees, visual enhancement of the waterfront district, low maintenance landscaping, riverfront preservation, and enhanced public access points. The park encourages pedestrian and bicycle traffic and offers citizens alternatives to driving when visiting downtown Rio Vista.
