Siegfried provides civil engineering, structural engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture services to the City of San Rafael for improvements to their Grand Avenue Bridge which provides critical access to the Canal Neighborhood. Siegfried, working with the City, developed multiple concepts to help relieve traffic and pedestrian congestion along the existing bridge and provide citizens with a safer route. Our comprehensive solution ultimately resulted in the selection of a new free-spanning pedestrian and bicycle bridge, adjacent to the existing structure. Once constructed, the new bridge will provide access from the Canal Neighborhood and Bellam Boulevard to the San Rafael Transit Center, Montecito Shopping Center, San Rafael High School, and Downtown San Rafael.
