Siegfried is providing civil engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying services for the City of Stockton’s California Street Road Diet – Phase I project.
California Street serves as a major traffic roadway for schools, employment centers, government offices, parks, and commercial and residential areas. To improve the safety and connectivity of bicyclists and pedestrians, this project will include design services to install bicycle facilities along California Street in downtown Stockton. Per the City of Stockton’s Bicycle Master Plan, bike route signage, signal modifications, improvements of traffic control devices, railroad crossing approaches, street lighting, ADA improvements along the curb and sidewalk ramps as well as pavement improvement treatment and repairs were requested by the City.
These modifications to California Street are expected to decrease cyclist-involved motor vehicle collisions and the improvement of mobility for the City’s residents in this area.
