Intern Highlight: Welcome BACK Georgia!

Last summer, Siegfried had the pleasure of having Georgia Bracchi as a landscape design intern. This year, she decided to come back! When asked what prompted her to return to Siegfried, she said, “I gained so much valuable information as an intern at Siegfried. Having been exposed to landscape architecture application in a professional practice setting, I built new skills that my classes at Poly wouldn’t have offered me. Siegfried has a very welcoming as well as professional setting, and since California’s reopening, I was looking forward to site visits and more work in the field. Miner Avenue Complete Streets Update!

In September of 2020, we shared a rendering of the plans for Miner Avenue’s Complete Streets project. Today, we are sharing some progress photos of the project in motion! This project is a 10-block rehabilitation that spans from Center Street to the UPRR underpass. Improvements include lane reduction from four to two lanes and Class II bicycle lanes; the addition of median islands and a roundabout; traffic signal modifications at the signalized intersections; streetlights; as well as wider sidewalks with pedestrian and bicycle amenities. The roundabout will assist with traffic flow and add a beautiful landscape feature to Downtown Stockton. Keep an eye out for more progress photos down the road as the dreams for this project come to life!

Sacramento State University, Hornet Stadium Artificial Turf Replacement Complete!

Earlier this month, we shared some photos of the demolition of Sacramento State University‘s Hornet Stadium Artificial Turf Replacement project. We are pleased to announce that the turf has been replaced and is ready for those football cleats! The team at Siegfried worked closely with Sac State and the Athletic Department to find the perfect field for the school. We provided civil engineering and surveying services for the 75,000 SF artificial turf replacement. Take a look at this beautiful transformation!

Pixie Woods Park Galaxy Quest Play Structure Opening!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Check out the new Galaxy Quest Play Structure featured in Stockton’s staple, Pixie Woods Park! Siegfried donated civil and structural engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying services for Pixie Woods’ newest playground. We worked closely with the City of Stockton and the Pixie Woods Board to prepare plans and designs for the new structure, as well as the work for the fill material surrounding the playground. To preserve the structure long-term, Siegfried also designed a shade structure to cover the area. Due to Covid-19, the reveal of the structure was delayed. However, we are pleased to share that Pixie Woods is now OPEN Thursday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm, and the new Galaxy Quest…

Congratulations Scott Soares!

Siegfried congratulates Scott Soares on earning his LSIT! This is the first step required to become a licensed Professional Land Surveyor. Scott graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho with a degree in political science and has been with Siegfried since 2017. As a key member of the survey team, he has worked on projects all over Northern California. Scott is a valuable member of the Siegfried team and we congratulate him on his accomplishments!

City of Ripon Outfall Repair

Siegfried worked with the City of Ripon to repair a damaged outfall storm pipe. With rainy weather on the way, Siegfried was tasked with repairing this damaged outfall pipe quickly. Utilizing our team of structural engineers, civil engineers, and surveyors, Siegfried went to work and was able to see this project from start to finish in a little over five weeks. The improvement to this damaged storm pipe included a flared end to help direct the flow of water, rock embankment, and vegetation removal.
