Siegfried is proud to announce Frank Martinovic, PE, SE, LEED AP, as the Senior Associate Structural Manager! In his role, Frank will lead the Structural Engineering Department for Siegfried. He brings a robust 22 years of Structural Engineering experience and has worked on major building projects in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Evergreen Valley College, North Fire Lane Project Update!

Project Progress Photo! Siegfried is providing civil engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture for the safety and ADA improvements of the North Fire Lane at Evergreen Valley College. These improvements include ADA accessibility upgrades and the addition of landscaping features including a brand-new water feature at the end of the pedestrian path. We are currently in the construction phase of this project but, keep an eye out for more updates on its progress!

Intern Highlight: Welcome BACK Georgia!

Last summer, Siegfried had the pleasure of having Georgia Bracchi as a landscape design intern. This year, she decided to come back! When asked what prompted her to return to Siegfried, she said, “I gained so much valuable information as an intern at Siegfried. Having been exposed to landscape architecture application in a professional practice setting, I built new skills that my classes at Poly wouldn’t have offered me. Siegfried has a very welcoming as well as professional setting, and since California’s reopening, I was looking forward to site visits and more work in the field. I think it’s very important to observe the connection between the design and actual implementation happening at the construction site to see the process…

UC Santa Cruz, Upper Quarry Amphitheater Renovation – Grand Opening!

Last week, we got the chance to attend the grand opening celebration for the Upper Quarry Amphitheater Renovation project at UC Santa Cruz. The project is a true restoration and retrofit that required all of the teams’ skills to creatively and efficiently meet the numerous small challenges the site and the current codes provide. The terrain was challenging, the tree canopy heavy, the hazards plentiful, but like team players, the Siegfried team adapted to the evolving project conditions to reveal a beautiful, successful project to be enjoyed for years to come. Siegfried is very excited to announce that one of our lead civil engineers, Adam Merrill, has been promoted to Principal! With over a decade of experience, Adam has a strategic and intelligent approach to his designs and has effectively led many projects to successful completion – all while raising his 4-year-old daughter, Payton, with his beautiful wife, Natalie. Some of Adam’s most recent projects have been with the Town of San Anselmo, where he has cultivated successful working relationships, and in turn, a highly successful Low Impact Development Pilot project, Roadway Reconstruction projects, and Median Master Plan for the Town. Currently, he is working on the Hudson Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety project in Redwood City, the new 1800-stall parking structure…

RIP, Bob Celum Jr.

It is with the great sadness that we have to announce the  heartbreaking news of the death of our colleague and friend, Robert (Bob) Granville Celum Jr. Bob was one of the original owners of Siegfried, who joined the company after serving in the Navy and graduating from Stanford in 1949. During his time at Siegfried, he played a crucial role in Siegfried’s past and current successes by bringing in clients such as the Morning Star Company and the Massie Company, who still do business with us to this very day. Also of note, year prior to retiring in 1995, Bob was awarded with the San Joaquin Engineer Council’s, distinguished “Engineer of the Year Award”. Beyond his awards and accomplishments,…
