Siegfried is currently providing civil engineering, landscape architecture, and structural engineering services to UC Merced for the development of two new parking lots and adjacent roadways that sit within the heart of the campus. The project includes parking lot and roadway layout alternatives, island placement, bicycle and pedestrian walkways, roadway placement, integrated solar panels, and green materials such as porous concrete, cellular confined gravel, and decomposed granite to help meet the campus triple-zero commitment to sustainability. Siegfried prepared an extensive study of roadway and parking lot surface materials and presented various alternatives to the campus stakeholders for consideration. Siegfried worked with the campus to refine and integrate the overall campus master plan and make suggested changes such as borrowing dirt from the future North Bowl Lake to in-fill the site. The design team worked with three other teams who are on site working on various other campus projects. The project is currently DSA approved and out to bid.
