The 9,000 SF fire station, which sits on 1.5 acres, includes a three-bay apparatus area, 3,000 SF of dorms, kitchen, restrooms, office areas, and approximately 1,500 SF of training and emergency operations center area.
The fire station is considered an “essential services facility” as defined in the California Building Code and includes on-site and above-ground fueling support, generator support for the entire building and site, plus an uninterrupted power supply for critical components of the operation.
Landscape architectural design elements also included a fire safety demonstration garden which included specific plant materials that are naturally fire retardant. The garden will also serve as an educational opportunity for the local community.
