Siegfried provided civil engineering services for the CSU Sacramento Parking Structure 5 (PS5) project. The project includes a proposed 6-level parking structure of approximately 93,300 SF and a 2-story Welcome Center, at 18,400 SF for University staff and students. It also houses the University Transportation & Parking Services (UTAPS) offices.
The plaza features seating and public art and planners making it an ideal gathering spot for students. The $42M, CSU Sacramento parking structure and portions of the Welcome Center were built with precast concrete components. Additional project elements include innovative stormwater collection systems, energy-efficient lighting, and exterior rainwater chains for drainage; a roundabout to help with traffic congestion, a designated bike parking area, and a plaza area for student activities and events. The improvements include new routing for pedestrians and bicyclists to make flow through the project area more efficient.
